Photos of Cirque du Soleil Rehearsals at Wolstein Center
Since 2002, Cirque du Soleil has regularly brought traveling shows to Cleveland. OVO, the latest of such shows, kicks off a 7-performance stand tonight at Wolstein Center as part of a global tour in arenas around North America. More than 4.5 million people have seen the show since it premiered in Montreal in 2009 as a big top show. OVO — the word means “egg” in Portuguese — offers a “headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.” The cast features some 50 performing artists from 12 countries. Taken earlier today from backstage at the Wolstein Center, these photos show the cast and crew preparing for tonight's debut performance.
