Led by stocky singer Nathaniel Rateliff, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats delivered a high-energy 80-minute set last night in front of a capacity crowd at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica.
Backed by the 7-piece Night Sweats, Rateliff effectively channeled Van Morrison on tunes such as "A Little Honey." He effectively sang solo too, showing off his soulful voice on the ballad "I'll Be Waiting Just to Dance With You."
The Head and the Heart, who opened the night with an engaging 80-minute set of their own, alternated between folk-y ballads like "Lost in My Mind" and rowdy sing-alongs such as the perky pop number "City of Angels."
