Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins Performing at the Agora

Tommy Tutone's "Jenny" pumped into the Agora Theatre as Jenny Lewis took the stage last night in a floor-length gold sequin number, her hair coiffed in a bouffant. Her band accompanied in matching black suits. Lewis took to the piano for the first two songs, "Heads Gonna Roll" and "Wasted Youth," before stepping to the front of the stage to serenade the enthusiastic audience. The crowd crooned together with Lewis to "Happy," clapped through "She's Not Me" and marveled in awe to the stripped down performance of Rilo Kiley tune "With Arms Outstretched." Before her encore, she sang "Rabbit Hole" while accompanied by a man in a pink bunny suit who played the tambourine in unison with her before carrying her offstage. She returned for a four-song encore, welcoming the Watson Twins back to the stage to form a power trio boasting heavenly harmonies. The Watson Twins took to the stage with their twangy alt-country tunes to kick the night off. Their ten-song set showcased the identical sisters' beautiful harmonies in a joyful performance. Before beginning their song "Southern Manners," the L.A. transplants offered a little bit of advice — "Sometimes you gotta leave where you're from to find out where you're going."  (Amber Patrick)
