On the Rise Artisan Breads
3471 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Heights and 3407 Tuttle Rd., Shaker HeightsOn The Rise was recently one of Food and Wine Magazine’s Top 100 Bakeries in the Country and we totally agree. In addition to their freshly baked breads and other baked goods, the bakery is known for having some of the best chocolate chip cookies this side of anywhere, other tasty desserts and a banh mi we've called one of the best sandwiches in Cleveland.

Koko Bakery
3710 Payne Ave., Cleveland and 1767 Coventry Rd., Cleveland HeightsFor more than 15 years, Koko Bakery has lured Asian food fans to its downtown store for fresh-baked buns, colorful fruit tarts, cakes and pastries, hot lunches and delicious bubble tea. Come this summer, the popular Asiatown shop will open its second location, this one out east in Coventry Village. The location is the former Piccadilly Artisan Yogurt space next door to Pacific East. Xu says that the shop will be nearly identical to the original in terms of items offered. They will be outfitting the space with its own bakery.

Brimfield Bread Oven
3956 State Route 43, #2, KentIt may be a bit of a hike from Cleveland, but this European bakery in Kent is certainly worth the drive. Brimfield literally bakes in a wood-fired oven, and the bread and pastries they’re putting out at this spot are on a whole nother level.
