Cleveland-Area Haunted Houses and Ghostly Experiences That Actually Don't Suck

Looking for something a bit more sinister than apples and pumpkins this fall? Halloween brings out the spooky in all of us and these Northeast Ohio haunted houses and ghostly events are sure to scare the pants off of you. Most of these do run at least a week after Halloween. 1145 West Steels Corners Rd., Cuyahoga Falls
Ever since 2003, Blossom Music Center has transformed into a haunted Halloween experience. There are four different haunted houses that attendees can visit, including an old, abandoned Fun House, the Wicked  Woods, the Insane Asylum and the Freakshow in 3-D Terrorvision. It runs now until Nov. 1, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Created by the Legion of Terror, the world's oldest improvisational horror production company, Bloodview offers three attractions for one price, including the Gorehouse, billed as Bloodview's goriest attraction ever. A former prison is a scary place on its own merits. The psychotic inmates and clowns that are let loose at the Ohio State Reformatory will make this prison even scarier than usual. It’s open from now until Nov. 3, every Thursday through Sunday, starting at 6 p.m.

The Fortress of Fear is a 17th century-themed castle full of surprises. At the Screampark, you can also visit Fearanoia, a pandemic-infested factory and Feargotten, an escape room. It’s open every Friday and Saturday through October, with two special dates, opening on Oct. 28 and Halloween night.
