20 Pick-Your-Own Apple Orchards Near Cleveland to Check Out This Fall

Though the leaves haven’t quite turned yet and pumpkin spice lattes just hit cafes, apple orchards are already open to start eager Clevelanders off to the fall season. Though some of these places may be a drive, it’s worth expanding passed city limits into Northeast Ohio’s true farm country for the freshest fruit.

Only about 45 minutes away from Cleveland, Bauman Orchards offers a more conventional apple picking experience. Decorated with dried corn, red and orange leaves along with rustic trucks, the orchard makes sure visitors know the last days of summer are coming to an end and fall will be here shortly. You can pick apples starting on September 14th, their Harvest Days are September 19th, 26th and October 3rd and they have a market filled with wonderful treats.

The only orchard in this list with its own hard cider brewery, Burnham Orchards offers more fun for adults than kids. After picking your bushel, the farm serves up its homemade hard apple and pickle cider. Yeah, they make pickle cider. Also on site is Grandma Bea’s Bakery, which offers as scrumptious and hearty desserts as the name suggests.

The former Pioneer Trail Orchard changed its name a few years back but continues to offer 23 varieties of apples (you can pick them yourself on weekends through October), plus Bartlett pears, red raspberries and cider pressed on site are available at the front of the orchard.
