Just a short road trip from Cleveland, the Athens Insane Asylum housed and treated thousands of mentally ill patients between 1874 and 1993 -- but some say its residents never left. Plenty of paranormal activity has been reported from inside the brick walls including unaccounted for footsteps and other noises. Perhaps creepiest of all, though, is the imprint of a human corpse that's still visible to this day on a cement floor. Thanks to a few brave Instagrammers and Flickr photographers who've documented all this and more, take a trip inside the abandoned facility from behind the safety of your computer screen.
